The Conservation in Action Workshop

Situated in a restored Grade II listed WWI aircraft hangar, built around 1915, the latest addition to Aerospace Bristol allows visitors to get up-close to conservation projects. Visitors can explore the Bristol Bolingbroke 9048 and now go on board the Bristol Freighter.

Combining magnificent medieval architecture with spectacular Italianate State Rooms, Alnwick Castle is one of the UK’s most significant heritage destinations and one of the largest inhabited castles in England; it has been home to the Duke of Northumberland’s family, the Percys, for over 700 years.


Alnwick’s lavish State Rooms boast one of the finest private art collections in the country, including eight paintings by Canaletto and extensive works by Titian, Van Dyck, Turner, and Dobson. Impressive services of Meissen, Chelsea, and Paris porcelain are displayed in the China Gallery, while the Saloon is home to the priceless Cucci cabinets, originally created for King Louis XIV of France and his palace at Versailles.


Alnwick Castle famously featured as Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the first two Harry Potter films. The Outer Bailey is the location where Harry first learned to fly, as well as learning the rules of Quidditch. Visitors can recreate some of the magic with a tour of filming locations or a Broomstick Training lesson, courtesy of our resident wizarding professors.


In addition to Harry Potter, Alnwick Castle has had starring roles both in cinema and on television including ITV’s Downton Abbey, with Alnwick Castle featuring as Brancaster, home of the Marquess of Hexham. Scenes in the grounds, surrounding parkland and throughout the State Rooms saw characters enjoy everything from dinner in the Dining Room to dancing in the Library.


Other small screen appearances include the BBC’s Hollow Crown Shakespeare adaptations, 1980s cult classic Robin of Sherwood and, famously, the first series of Blackadder. On the big screen, the castle has appeared in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Elizabeth and Transformers: The Last Knight.


Families can spend quality time together in Artisans Courtyard, a vibrant and bustling medieval themed area where adults and children can dress in medieval costume and set forth to train in swordplay, play medieval games, become a craft-making artisan and make a souvenir to take home, and take photos on our thrones (or in the stocks). In Dragon’s Quest join forces with Harry Hotspur and the Dragon Catcher to battel mystical forces, conquer challenging obstacles and come face to face with a terrifying Dragon.


The castle’s rich history is brimming with drama, intrigue, and extraordinary people, from a gunpowder plotter and visionary collectors, to decadent hosts and England’s most celebrated knight: Harry Hotspur, brought to life by our resident knights, ladies and artisans, together with a host of entertaining performers throughout the season. You might meet wizards, dragons, jesters and falconers on your adventures!


With gift shops, cafes and museums to add to your visit, there is plenty to see and do at Alnwick Castle. And if it all gets too much, simply relax in some of the most spectacular and picturesque countryside in England and absorb 950 years of history – and magic.

In the afternoon, we will meet the star of the show, Alnwick Castle. There is far too much to do here; admire large stately rooms and beautiful architecture, explore the spectacular gardens or learn a little about all the popular films and TV shows that have been filmed here.

After spending time in Alnwick, we make our way back over the border and in to Scotland. Passing fateful battlefields, we learn about the turbulent past of the Scottish/English border before our journey ends in Edinburgh, early evening.

We start this Tour at the Royal Albert Dock in the heart of the docklands beside the River which with the huge traffic in and out of the port in the 50's is credited to be a major influence in the rise of so many stars in the 60's not just the Beatles. We then move across the city towards the areas in which the Fab Four and many others grew up. We take the time to stop at the Penny Lane Road sign and see the area made famous by the song.

Welcome to the Bridgerton Tour


Dearest Gentle Reader,


This season the ton are flocking to Bath after word got out that there is a new Bridgerton tour. Needless to say, this 1 ½-hour tour will promenade through Bath’s beautiful and historic streets. It will take in many of Bridgerton’s filming locations. For the duration of the tour, you will be able to enjoy the music and sounds of Bridgerton with the use of our headphones.


If you are lucky enough, or unlucky depending on your point of view, you may spot the garishly dressed Featheringtons by their house. Although they’ll most likely be hiding inside. I sincerely look forward to seeing the ton’s dresses this season, skillfully made by the charming Madame Delacroix. Do be sure to look out for her shop during this enjoyable tour. Another noteworthy location is Lady Danbury’s house. She will undoubtedly be put out if you don’t take a moment to admire her handsome home.


The ravishing joys of Bath


Oh, how delightful it will be to wander through Bath’s cobbled streets. One can admire the cafes and boutiques as you pass and talk about the many balls of the season. You will even discover where they were filmed. Never fear, you can count on this author to share some delicious behind-the-scenes gossip about the making of Bridgerton and the delightful history of Bath. And of course, the Bridgerton family themselves will be discussed. Special note will be given to this season’s diamond couple the Duke and Duchess of Hastings.


Naturally, the walking tour will go at a very leisurely pace. This author can assure you, dear reader, that there’ll be plenty of opportunities for photographs and such along the way.

Walk 360


Walk 360 is an open air, heart-in-mouth walk on top – yes, on top – of the i360 pod. At 138 metres up, you’ll get all the stunning views of Brighton with the added thrill of being out in the elements. It’s certainly not for the faint-hearted, but if you love a thrill then this is one walk you’ll never forget – and the reward is worth every adrenaline-fuelled step.


Your ticket includes two digital photographs that will capture you at different points on the Walk 360. Take on the challenge of leaning back, arms spread out wide, with the 138 metres of Brighton and the south coast below you! And make sure to smile!

Buckingham Palace

Windsor Castle

The town of Windsor is best known for its historical links to the British royal family, and it is suitably steeped in pageantry and history. 
Towering over the rest of the town is Windsor Castle, the ancestral home of the English and later British monarchy, and largest inhabited castle in the world.
It has been the family home of British kings and queens for almost 1,000 years and is today one of the official residences of His Majesty The King.
Occupying over 10.5 hectares, the Castle offers a varied day out for visitors, including a visit to the magnificent State Apartments and St George's Chapel. The Castle's State Apartments are furnished with some of the finest works from the Royal Collection, reflecting the changing tastes of the Castle's royal occupants, particularly those of Charles II and George IV. Among the masterpieces on display are paintings by Holbein, Rubens and Van Dyck, Sèvres porcelain and exquisite English and French furniture. Many of the works of art are still in the historic settings for which they were first collected or commissioned by the kings and queens who have lived at Windsor.

The Garden


Often called the ‘walled oasis in the middle of London', the gardens of Buckingham Palace are a true sight to behold. Home to 30 different species of bird and over 350 different wild flowers, there is plenty to see and enjoy. Get up-close to the Gold State Coach which has been used for every coronation since William IV. The newest addition to the fleet is the Diamond Jubilee State Coach, a beautiful vehicle made especially for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012. The vehicle combines classic style and craftsmanship with more modern technologies – an extraordinary example of modern tradition.


Please note your scheduled entry to Buckingham Place is 75min after your entry to Royal Mews. You must leave the Royal Mews and wait OUTSIDE KING'S GALLERY (formally known as Queen's Gallery) for a Golden Tours representative to take you to Buckingham Palace, you will not be allowed into the Palace without them.

Royal Mews


After exploring inside Buckingham Palace, you’ll have the chance to admire the stunning state vehicles at the Royal Mews. 


The Royal Mews is responsible for arranging all transport for the Royal Family. During your visit, you’ll be able to see iconic carriages including the Gold State Coach which has been used at many State occasions including King Charles III’s coronation in 2023.

Buckingham Palace 


Buckingham Palace, the grand and iconic London residence of His Majesty the King is an absolute must-see on any visit to London. A fully working royal palace, housing not only The King, but serving as the administrative headquarters of the Royal Household. 
 
The 19 State Rooms are exquisitely furnished with fine examples of French and English antique furniture and display some of the greatest treasures from the Royal Collection, including works by Rubens, Canaletto and Rembrandt, sculpture by Canova and porcelain by S&egrave;vres.

Afternoon Tea Bus


After your independent visit, you will be free to take your afternoon tea at 3pm in Bullied way in Victoria. You will be greeted with a glass of Prosecco or soft drink at the beginning of your tour. The afternoon tea consists of a selection of finger sandwiches, scones served with clotted cream and preserves, small tea cakes and a choice of tea. Enjoy sights of London's iconic landmarks including Tower Bridge, Big Ben, the London Eye, and more along the way.

The large stone tower, which we now know as Clifford's Tower, was built in the 1250s during the reign of King Henry III.


The fascinating story of Clifford's Tower will finally be told thanks to a major investment by English Heritage at one of York's most important heritage sites 


For much of the 14th and 15th centuries, Clifford's Tower was used as treasury, exchequer, mint, gaol and seat of royal power. During the Civil War (1642-9), Clifford's Tower was held by the royalists while the city was under siege.


In 1684 the tower was reduced to a shell after a fire. Eventually, most of the castle buildings were swept away when a new prison and court were built in the 18th and 19th centuries, leaving Clifford's Tower as the principal surviving remnant of the York Castle.

But be careful, Mr Q has confirmed that the traitor has managed to reset the security device of the facility! Agents, beware! Launching the missile into the satellite will trigger the command center’s self-destruct sequence. You will have only 60 Minutes to destroy the satellite until it goes online and then to evacuate the command center before it self-destructs. You and your team will be sent behind enemy lines with the mission to infiltrate into the Professor’s command center, hack into his system and obtain the missile codes in order to destroy the satellite once and for all.

Professor BlackSheep is back again to destroy mankind as we know it by turning us all into complacent sheep! And this time he is not alone - he’s got an evil side-kick and together they have built a dangerous device: the SheepMutator.


Mr Q discovered that the new technology used by the Professor poses a serious threat: by mutating the human genome, the SheepMutator can turn anyone who is in the range of its evil rays into a placid sheep! To make matters worse, the Professor has managed to set up several such devices in key locations around the planet - and one of them is right here, in London! Agents, you will have 60 Minutes to locate and find a way to deactivate these devices before they go online and it’s too late for mankind!

Professor BlackSheep seeks to recreate the original genetical experiment that turned him into a sheep. He has launched a cyber attack on our old mainframe in the hope of extracting secret data, along with the genetical research he's missing.


In order to stop the Professor from breaching our firewall, you and your team will have to access Mr Q's old base. The only way in, however, is to shrink down to the size of a mouse with the help of the Shrink'o'Mat. Word of caution, agents: the technology you'll be exposed to is...a bit unstable and still experimental. You'll have only 60 minutes to counteract the cyber attack and secure the mainframe before the Shrink'o'Mat's effect wears off and things get messy.

Experience life at sea and climb the rigging of one of London's true icons


Climb the famous masts of Cutty Sark and experience a unique London adventure. Book your Cutty Sark Rig Climb now.


For the first time since the ship's arrival in Greenwich in 1954, visitors can climb the rigging of Cutty Sark and get a taste of what it would have been like to sail the historic ship.


Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled rig climb (as indicated on your ticket). You'll be given a short safety briefing, and learn more about what it was actually like to live and work on board Cutty Sark.


Remember, your ticket also includes general admission to Cutty Sark on the same day, so give yourself enough time to enjoy the ship before or after your climb!


The climb itself will depend on the speed of each individual. We recommend allowing up to an hour to enjoy the whole experience.

Starting with a briefing underneath the ship’s beautiful hull, those brave enough to take on the challenge step up from the Main Deck on to the ship’s 'ratlines' (rope ladders).


From here you can make your way up into the rigging, just as hundreds of sailors did during Cutty Sark’s long and fabled career at sea. When you reach the platform, take a breath and drink in the view while looking down on a true London icon. Then it's time for one final challenge: the Lower Topsail Yard! Grip the horizontal bar and hold on tight as your shuffle along the footrope. Be brave, look up and feel the rush of a life at sea.


Going down:


A controlled descent will take you from the lofty heights of the rigging straight back down to the Main Deck. You can then join up with friends and family and continue your Cutty Sark adventure: your Rig Climb ticket includes free access to all areas of the ship. Explore the crew's cabins, come face to face with the world's largest Merchant Navy figurehead collection, take the helm and enjoy a cuppa in the café beneath the ship's gleaming hull. Aboard the Cutty Sark experience what life was like on a true survivor of the seas and discover the epic story of a sailing legend. Venture on-deck and beneath one of the world's most famous ships – the last surviving tea clipper, and the fastest and most magnificent of her time.


On the David Bowie London Tour, you will find out how you can take the boy out of Brixton, but you can’t take Brixton out of the boy.


The tour will start off by exploring David Bowie’s roots in the London suburbs of Brixton. Walking around, you’ll get a flavour of the Brixton that Bowie would have known and loved with its rich heritage and diverse cultures. You’ll visit the sites where David Bowie fans gathered together to mourn his passing in 2016, see venues where Bowie performed, and find out where some of the many Bowie-themed parties and celebrations were held.


This first half of the David Bowie walking tour will give you an insight into his early life, his family and events that helped shape him and turned the young David Jones into the musician, David Bowie.


As you walk around you’ll see how proud Brixton is of its Bowie link. There are several little nods to this local lad, the highlight of which is the David Bowie memorial just opposite the underground station.


Although he spent his early years in Brixton, David Bowie found fame and fortune in London’s buzzing Soho district, so you’ll take a short tube journey (not included in the price of the tour) to continue your David Bowie London Tour in Soho.


Soho was the heart of the music industry in the 1970s, it was here that the eager David Bowie hoped to make a name for himself and started working, socialising, and allegedly living in Denmark Street, a.k.a. Tin Pan Alley.


The tour stops outside several of Soho’s legendary music venues and as well as the studio where David Bowie recorded two of his albums. After the tour you may like to come back and enjoy a drink in David Bowie’s favourite pub, which will be pointed out to you during the tour.


As you walk through Carnaby Street, you’ll take a moment to talk about “Fashion! Turn to the left. Fashion! Turn to the right.” What better place to reminisce on Bowie’s iconic song, and of course some of his most striking fashion choices?


During the David Bowie London Tour, you’ll be able to stand in the very spot that featured on the album cover ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars’ and see one of the few plaques dedicated to a fictional character, guess which one?


As you wind through the streets of Soho you’ll hear anecdotes and trivia about his songs, how he was portrayed in the media, his rise to fame, and his unique ability to reinvent himself as different personas.

In a cycle of six themed chapters, with a specially composed score by Nico Muhly and a commentary by the artist himself, Hockney reveals his process to us. His voice is in our ears as we watch him experimenting with perspective, using photography as a way of ‘drawing with a camera’, capturing the passing of time in his polaroid collages and the joy of spring on his iPad, and showing us why only paint can properly convey the hugeness of the Grand Canyon. We join him on his audio-visual Wagner Drive, roaring up into the San Gabriel Mountains, and into the opera house by means of animated re-creations of his stage designs.
